A couple of people have expressed concerns that the decision to move
next month's meeting may have been a little rash. All of the literature
we've handed out at the various Badnarik/Campagna events recently say
we meet every month at China Buffet. In case someone new comes, we
will have an abbreviated meeting at China Buffet. 6:00pm for diner,
7:00pm main event. We should be done by 7:30 and adjourn to Beginnans
to watch the election returns.

Tom Blanton who coordinated the LPVA's booth at the State Fair, writes:

> The Libertarian booth at the State Fair, sponsored by the LPVA and
> the Local Affiliate Parties Committee, opened for business on
> September 23rd for the 11 day duration of the fair. Thousands of
> Virginians stopped briefly at the booth and hundreds visited for
> longer than just a minute or two. I personally engaged in many
> conversations lasting five minutes or more.
>
> The LPVA banner was prominently displayed along with a Badnarik
> banner and Badnarik yard signs. Despite problems with obtaining
> Libertarian literature and Badnarik campaign materials, we were able
> to distribute a large amount of material to hundreds of people who
> expressed an interest in learning more about the LP and/or Badnarik.
>
> We distributed (approximately) 600 Badnarik brochures, 250 Badnarik
> mini-flyers, 200 Badnarik balloons, 30 Badnarik bumper stickers, 150
> Badnarik/Campagna buttons, 9 yard signs, 500 "New Vision" brochures,
> 200 "Viewpoint" newspapers and dozens of single-issue
> brochures. Several of the yard signs, several bumper stickers, and
> about 25 buttons were given to booth volunteers.

...

> The following Libertarians worked one shift, often a hard to fill
> daytime shift: Steve Carter-Lovejoy, Greg Kontos, Leonard Harris,
> Kate Marshall, George Marchenko, Tad Hill, Roy Scherer, Bob Lynch,
> Margaret Dobbins, Travis Bowling, Reed Halsted, and Scott Burger (a
> pro-Badnarik Green who provided some flyers on instant runoff voting
> also).
>
> The following Libertarians volunteered to drive to Richmond from
> various locations around the state to work a shift: Jim Lark, Doug
> Spencer, Mike Eck, Sanford Pankin, Marianne Volpe, Thomas James,
> Bill Wood, and Ashley Zanatta.
>
> Special thanks to those Libertarians who worked 3 to 5 shifts each,
> including many day shifts. Hats off to Russell Booker, Bill Walker,
> Anne Soffee, and William Blanton (my son - who is also helping to
> get a Libertarian group up and running at VCU).
>

A big thanks to Tom for coordinating the booth and for working a total
of 13 shifts!
